Taichung Tourist Spots


Close to the PCS 2024 Conference Venue:

1. National Taichung Theater
Taiwan’s first national opera house, designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito. The opera house has a unique appearance and is known as “the most beautiful opera house in the world”.
2. Calligraphy Greenway
It is a green corridor in the center of Taichung, converted from an original driveway. Many trees are planted on both sides of Calligraphy Greenway, making it a good place for Taichung citizens to take a leisurely walk.
3. Fengchia Night Market
One of the largest night markets in Taiwan, there are more than 1,500 stalls selling a variety of food and snacks.
4. Maple Garden Ecological Park
An urban recreational green space, providing a breath of fresh air to city life.
5. Fulfillment Amphitheater
Inspired by ancient European amphitheaters, this outdoor circular venue breaks the confines of the traditional “black box” theater, allowing for a more immersive and scalable participation.
6. National Museum of Natural Science
The first national science museum in Taiwan, located in North District, Taichung, offers hands-on experiences and showcasing the integration of natural science into daily life.
7. National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts
The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) was inaugurated in 1988. Visual arts being its main theme, the museum focuses on the collection, research, exhibiting, and educational promotion of modern and contemporary art in Taiwan. The NTMoFA is dedicated to providing visitors with a diverse and professional space for appreciating art.
8. Luce Chapel
This campus is the most attractive one of all the universities in Taiwan. The buildings on the campus are modeled after the architectural style of the Tang dynasty. The landmark of Tunghai University is the church designed by I.M. Pei.
